Sponsor Information

What’s a sponsor?

Sponsors are professionals and companies who partner with PTL to host and mentor high school interns each summer. By being a sponsor, these professionals sign up for a summer of mentoring a high school intern. PTL sponsors come from a wide range of sectors, industries, and backgrounds, united by a shared belief in youth potential and equitable career access. Their guidance shapes the next generation of leaders—one internship at a time.

Why should I sponsor?

Because this isn’t just about offering an internship—it’s about opening a door. When you sponsor a PTL scholar, you’re supporting a driven high school student who's ready to learn, contribute, and grow. Yes, you’ll get a motivated intern bringing fresh ideas and real help to your team—but more than that, you’ll be investing in someone who may not have had access to opportunities like this otherwise. You’ll become a mentor, a guide, and maybe even a lifelong connection in someone’s career journey. PTL is built by students, for students—but it only works because professionals like you believe in sharing your time, your knowledge, and your space.

Sponsor Expectations

Mentor PTL Scholars

We ask that you be a supportive and approachable mentor throughout the summer. At the beginning of the internship, please provide a brief orientation or overview of your company so your intern can get familiar with the workplace and expectations. Assigning an experienced team member as their day-to-day mentor helps ensure they have guidance and someone to learn from.

Communicate Effectively

We also ask that you respond to PTL communications in a timely manner so we can keep everything running smoothly, as prompt replies are crucial for maintaining workflow and avoiding delays across all our operations.

Expose Interns to Company Culture

Bring your company culture to the experience—whether that’s letting them sit in on meetings, sharing stories from your career path, or just making them feel welcome. Most importantly, we ask that you help your intern gain skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging in the professional world
